Epidermal Fatty acid-binding protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FABP5 gene. This gene encodes the fatty acid binding protein found in epidermal cells, and was first identified as being upregulated in psoriasis tissue. It is mapped to 8q21.13. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. It is though that FABPs roles include fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the FABP5 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
An amino acid sequence from the N-terminus of human Fatty Acid Binding Protein 5 (ATVQQLEGRWRLVDS) was used as the immunogen for this FABP5 antibody.
After reconstitution, the FABP5 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
