Description

Excitatory amino acid transporter 1 (EAAT1), also called GLAST, is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the SLC1A3 gene. It is mapped to 5p13.2. This gene encodes a member of a member of a high affinity glutamate transporter family. This gene functions in the termination of excitatory neurotransmission in central nervous system. Mutations are associated with episodic ataxia, Type 6. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the EAAT1 antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Storage

After reconstitution, the EAAT1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
