This gene is a member of the BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kd-interacting protein (BNIP) family. Though the specific function is unknown, it interacts with the E1B 19 kDa protein which is responsible for the protection of virally-induced cell death, as well as E1B 19 kDa-like sequences of BCL2, also an apoptotic protector.
Titration of the BNIP2 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 285-316 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this BNIP2 antibody.
Aliquot the BNIP2 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
