Lactosylceramide 4-alpha-galactosyltransferase catalyzes the transfer of galactose to lactosylceramide to form globotriaosylceramide, which has been identified as the P(k) antigen of the P blood group system. The encoded protein, which is a type II membrane protein found in the Golgi, is also required for the synthesis of the bacterial verotoxins receptor.
Titration of the A4GALT antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 26-54 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this A4GALT antibody.
Aliquot the A4GALT antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
